Fulltone Limited Edition Custom Shop Gold Standard OCD-Ge Germanium Overdrive Pedal. This pedal pairs Fulltone's signature overdrive architecture with hard-clipping germanium diodes, housed in an ultra-premium metallic gold enclosure.

Core Specifications & Features

  • Germanium Clipping Circuitry: Unlike standard OCD versions that rely solely on MOSFET hard-clipping, the OCD-Ge introduces a matched pair of vintage-style germanium clipping diodes. This configuration yields a softer, more compression-like attack, smoother high-frequencies, and complex tube-like second-harmonic overtones.
  • High Peak (HP) / Low Peak (LP) Voicing Switch:
    • HP: Boosts output, introducing more distortion and an accentuation in the mid-range (typically around 1–2 kHz). Ideal for cutting through dense band mixes or adding thick amp-like characteristics to a clean channel.
    • LP: Provides a transparent voicing with minimal tonal coloration. Functions perfectly as a clean boost that honors the inherent frequency response of your amplifier and instrument
  • Advanced Output Buffer & Class A JFET Input: Equipped with a premium discrete Class-A JFET input stage that raises input impedance to 1 Mega-ohm, optimizing interaction with both single-coil and humbucking pickups. The updated output buffer layout ensures the hard-clipping section is isolated, keeping your signal chain highly dynamic while resisting tone degradation regardless of the pedals that follow it.
  • Internally Switchable Bypass Modes: Features a dual internal switch allowing you to choose between standard True Bypass or Fulltone’s proprietary Enhanced Bypass. Enhanced Bypass utilizes a Class-A configured FET to preserve high-end dynamics across long cable lengths without sounding flat or clinical like standard unity-gain buffers.
  • Voltage Operating Range: Supports flexible power inputs ranging from standard 9V up to 18V DC (center-negative). Moving from 9V to 18V significantly opens up the clean headroom, expands dynamic tracking, and tightens bass response.
